Press Brake Technician - 2nd Shift (Mon-Thurs 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m.) at Special Products & Manufacturing (SPM) is a world-class contract manufacturer recognized by The Fabricator as 2025 Fabricator of the Year. SPM specializes in precision metal fabrication, precision machining, electro-mechanical assembly, welding, engineering, prototyping, laser cutting, powder coating and finishing. Responsibilities
Run a fully functional NC press brake setup sheet for the assigned machine. Amada press brake experience is a plus. Perform difficult bends and angles while understanding the working mechanics of standards (radius, angle, vee) tooling. Mathematically figure bend deductions, convert decimal/metric/fractions, and figure the flat pattern of parts containing 90 degree bends. Interpret print notes and apply notes and dimensions to the forming of a part. Follow instructions for installing and removing tooling, bending direction, taper and dimensional corrections and angular adjustments. Scan jobs in and out correctly, log and identify parts prior to leaving the Press Brake area, and accurately repeat the bending sequence. Read a square and dial calipers to inspect OD/ID dimensions and measure specified dimensions from the print. Check the end product to ensure it meets customer specifications and SPM quality standards. Follow all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements and other safety regulations. Qualifications
Ability to read a square, protractor and dial calipers. Minimum of 2 years of proven press brake experience. Ability to read blueprints. Competency in basic math, including fraction-to-decimal conversion. Ability to understand flat pattern layout. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50 lbs. Benefits
