Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair, and install HVAC and refrigeration systems, including boilers, centrifugal air conditioning systems, cooling towers, packaged AC units, ice machines, freezers, and coolers.
Maintain and install high and low-pressure piping on heating systems.
Conduct chemical analysis of boiler water and treat systems accordingly.
Estimate man-hours and materials for jobs.
Troubleshoot and repair control systems using electronic and pneumatic knowledge.
Perform electrical work for HVAC systems.
Maintain and install ice-making equipment, ventilation, air ducts, remote AC units, and other air tempering equipment.
Work with hot water boilers, heat pumps, steam boilers, and related equipment.
Maintain and repair air compressors.
Utilize the government’s Recurring Work Program for system maintenance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid state driver’s license.
HVAC certification.
Minimum of five years’ verifiable HVAC experience.
Knowledge of hand and power tools.
Effective communication skills and teamwork.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an eighth-grade level for safety and environmental warnings.
Additional Information:
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
Position is classified as Mid-Senior level, full-time, in the Management and Manufacturing sector within Defense and Space Manufacturing industries.
