The bank program is a market-leading insurance solution for financial institutions, recognized for its underwriting and claims expertise, and endorsed by the American Bankers Association and 36 state bankers' associations.ABA Insurance Services is searching for an Underwriting Specialist to join our Property & Casualty team. This individual will be underwriting both new and renewal business for financial institutions. This job offers a hybrid work opportunity for individuals who are in the Shaker Heights, OH area. We are also open to remote employees with the expectation of visiting the office 4-6 times a year.**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities*** Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.

+ Uses independent judgment and initiative to support business goals.

+ Develops and implements risk assessment models to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.

+ Evaluates complex policy renewals and modifications, identifying opportunities for policy enhancements and risk mitigation

+ Procures and analyzes supplementary reports and screenings, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, and external inspections, to support underwriting decisions.

+ Ensures proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.* Communicates underwriting strategies and decisions effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers.* Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.* Monitors and evaluates underwriting practices, assisting with implementing strategic adjustments to improve overall effectiveness and outcomes.* Builds and maintains business relationships with internal and external customers to attract and retain profitable business.

+ Communicates underwriting strategies and decisions effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers.

+ Develops and strengthens relationships with agents and brokers through proactive phone conversations, clear written communication, and in-person engagement during travel.* May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Job Requirements*** Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.* Generally, a minimum of 9 years of experience in Underwriting Commercial P&C lines.* P&C Insurance License preferred, but not required for hire. Candidates must get their P&C license within their first 6 months of employment.* Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.**Business Unit:**ABA Insurance Services**Salary Range:**$95,000.00 -$120,000.00**Benefits:**Compensation varies by role, position level, and location.
