Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Apprentice I to assist with utility-scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance with electrical regulations while training under a journey-level electrician. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment. Responsibilities
Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.) Lift, position, and fasten objects Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and procedures Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels Pull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Some construction and/or electrical experience Current driver’s license Ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, blueprints, etc.) Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools Willingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions Ability to work safely with electrical equipment Knowledge of electrical systems Ability to handle materials weighing up to 200 lbs Strong teamwork orientation Positive attitude and professional customer service skills Active listening and effective communication skills Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movement Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs (assistance available for heavier lifts) Benefits
