Mechanic Helper Overview
Power-Flo Technologies is seeking a Mechanic Helper
for our Auburn Pump and Motor Repair Shop. The role assists Pump Mechanics in cleaning, painting, testing, binning, and partially disassembling AC/DC motors and pumps.
Responsibilities
Assist in the maintenance of service truck tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
Assist mechanics with the disassembly of pump and motor assemblies.
Clean parts using a sandblaster and air tools.
Keep shop areas clean from debris.
Maintain required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe, and related material on the service truck.
Perform cleaning and lubricating of tools as required.
Perform duties in a professional manner and work well with others in a team setting.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public.
Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.
Observe safe work practices and safety methods; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School Diploma.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, books, blueprints, and specifications or willingness to learn.
Familiar with various hand tools.
Familiar with power tools such as impact guns, cut off wheels, and drills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 100 pounds.
Valid and clean driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to work on elevated platforms.
Ability to climb ladders.
Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or reaching may be required.
Exposure to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions.
Good hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $15.50 - $18/hour
