You will perform duties such as changing oil and tires, replacing hoses and belts, inspecting brakes, and helping diagnose vehicle issues.
In addition, you will perform tasks involving physical labor including operating hand/power tools of all types: small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.* Follow all safety procedures, identify and report any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment* Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment, such as oil changes, lubrication, and fueling.* Maintain inventory of fluids required for maintenance of vehicles and equipment.* Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.* Perform regular inventory of parts and supplies.* Store parts and supplies in correct location for ease of access by all team members* Store materials properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis* Maintain a safe and clean job site with attention to detail to prevent hazards and to reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants* Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) on HAZWOPER sites or other sites as needed* Report incidents immediately to immediate supervisor in accordance with the incident reporting procedures.* Travel to remote environmental or construction sites as directed by management* Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment* Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.* Other duties as assigned**Supervisory Responsibilities:**This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:*** Knowledge of machines and tools including their uses, repair and maintenance and practical applications preferred.* Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly* Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and working in a high stress environment* Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task* Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result* Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety* Ability to work in a team environment* Ability to work in all weather conditions**Minimum Qualifications:*** High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)* Two years’ experience working with vehicles and equipment* Must be able to obtain a passport for international travel* Must be able to pass security vetting as required for access to military installation job sites.* Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Environmental’s Driving Policy.* Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screenings.**Preferred Qualifications:*** OSHA 30 hour certification preferred* Asbestos 40-hour certification preferred* HAZWOPER certification preferred* Experience in environmental or construction industry preferred**WORKING ENVIRONMENT:*** Predominantly field assignments outdoors with potential for lodging to be at a remote camp* Outdoor conditions may be subject to changes in weather conditions and noise levels* Must be willing and able to travel and work long hours to support rigorous timelines**More reasons you will love working with Brice Environmental Services Corporation:*** Health insurance through the Federal Employee Benefit Program (FEHB) with many plans to choose from with ridiculously low employee premiums. *\*Eligible if expected to work 130 hours per month or more for at least 90 days** Dental and Vision Insurance. *\*Eligible first of month after completing 60 days of employment with an average hours of 30 or more/week** FSA health care and/or dependent care/HSA with HDHP.* Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.* 401(K) match at $0.50 on the dollar up to 6% of your contribution once you have worked 6 months or worked 1000 hours of service whichever occurs first.*\*Benefits may vary based on status of position and subject to associated plan eligibility provisions, or company handbook.
