Areas of Responsibility and Job Requirements
The Leasing Agent plays an important part in the department ensuring a high level of customer service while assisting in meeting internal leasing goals. The Leasing Agent will work closely with the Leasing Manager, Director of Market Rate Leasing, and Property Management teams to provide in-depth feedback about prospects, insight on pricing, market trends, and other leasing-related topics. They will be responsible for showing apartments, reviewing lease terms, collecting funds, processing deal folders, feedback for reporting, advertising apartments, and other functions that are included in the full scope of the leasing process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the day-to-day leasing activities for current and upcoming availabilities
Timely follow-up with leads, schedule and show occupied and unoccupied apartments
Oversee applications; receive, gather required documents, process leases, prepare lease files, close deals, collect funds, provide timely introduction to Property Managers for new move-ins
Provide feedback to Leasing Manager for weekly/monthly reporting regarding inquiries and input from prospects
Work collaboratively with other team members to compile monthly comp reports
Perform additional job functions as needed to assist in high performing leasing team
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
3+ years of onsite leasing experience required.
Preferred Background and Skills:
Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office
Must have direct experience in a client-facing role
Prevalent knowledge of advertising, marketing, sales, and negotiation strategies, and sound understanding of the competitive market
Effective communicator with stellar organizational skills and attention to detail
Licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of New Jersey, preferred
Proficiency with Yardi and On-Site, preferred
