This role primarily focuses on employment-based immigration while also supporting family-based immigration applications as needed. Under the supervision of attorneys, an Employment-based Immigration Paralegal will assist in tasks such as drafting correspondence, researching immigration laws and procedures, managing case files, and interacting with clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities
Collect information and documentation from clients
Prepare draft filings for employment-based petitions (including E visas, PERM, H-1B, H-2B, L visas, and employment-based green card applications) and some family-based applications
Conduct research of immigration law and procedures
Prepare draft correspondence and memorandum
Enter case information into web-based case management system
Track the status of filings and inform the client of any follow up that may be necessary
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Two years of paralegal experience in employment-based immigration (experience with family-based immigration is a plus) preferred but not required
Familiarity with visas such as E-2, EB-1 and 2, PERM, H-1B, H-2B, I-140s, and employment-based green card processes required
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but applicants with some college or equivalent experience are welcome
Proficiency in the Arabic and/or Spanish language is welcome but not required
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on ability to work with a team
Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
Familiarity with immigration based software is helpful
Maintain a professional appearance
