We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in North Austin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, specifically with 1040 and 1120 tax returns, and experience handling both individual and business tax filings. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a small business environment, is a self-starter, and can jump into the work with minimal training.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file individual (1040) and business (1120) tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures, to determine forms needed for tax return preparation.
Work with clients to gather necessary information and provide guidance on tax matters.
Utilize QuickBooks to manage and organize financial data.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Stay updated on tax law changes and apply them effectively in tax preparation.
Assist in tax planning strategies to help clients maximize deductions and minimize liabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
MUST HAVE:
5+ years of experience in tax preparation.
Proven experience preparing both individual and business tax returns.
Strong knowledge of 1040 and 1120 tax returns.
Proficiency in QuickBooks for financial data management.
PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:
Enrolled Agent (EA) Certification.
Experience using Great Tax software.
Key Attributes & Soft Skills:
Self-starter who can take initiative and jump right into the role.
Able to work independently with minimal training.
Adaptable to a small business environment, working effectively within a close-knit team.
