Note to Applicants All applicants should currently reside in the Middle Georgia area. These positions are based in Macon, Georgia, and all operations will be run locally. Applications from outside the region may not be considered to avoid confusion regarding relocation or travel.
As a
Grading Crew Foreman , you’ll supervise and lead the grading crew to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient project execution. This role is key to supporting First Environmental’s mission: to fix our customers’ problems and make them happy.
Requirements
Proven experience in grading and equipment operation
Ability to lead and motivate a crew
Basic proficiency with GPS grading equipment and grade staking
Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil construction plans
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with a positive, safety-first attitude who leads by example
Pass a pre-employment physical exam, including DOT physical
Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Acceptable security background record
Acceptable driving record (as reviewed by insurance provider)
Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. repeatedly
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, and lift repeatedly
Ability to understand and apply safety training requirements
Duties / Responsibilities
Supervise grading crew and oversee daily project operations
Perform mass grading, rough grading, and fine grading
Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including:
Excavators
Loaders
Skid steers
Use GPS equipment to complete grading tasks with precision
Finish grade to meet project specifications
Conduct daily equipment inspections and assist with maintenance
Communicate with the Project Manager and complete daily reports via iPad
Read and follow civil site plans and project specifications
Maintain a safe, productive, and organized work environment
Compensation
