Commercial Loan Assistant II
will be responsible for assisting the commercial department in ordering related documents from third party vendors and external institutions for commercial loans. The Assistant helps prepare and maintain customer files, orders and reviews commercial loan documents for the department, creates and maintains necessary reports and assists the Relationship Managers as needed. The Loan Assistant must be customer focused, have a technical capacity, be thorough & hold confidentiality in the highest regard. Prepare documentation sheet checking off all items as they are received to ensure files are completed in a timely manner. Correspond with various institutions and vendors to obtain information needed such as title commitments, UCC pre-searches and filings, environmental reports, appraisals, flood and tax service; must review for accuracy. Order and review loan documents to ensure accuracy of documents including but not limited to: rate, term, proper vesting, legal descriptions, dates, signatures, etc. Maintain a tickler system to follow-up on covenants for the department as required by the various loan agreements. Work with Title Company to ensure our lien is recorded timely and accurately, and the final title commitment is received. Assist as needed with pending items/documentation from customers, institutions and vendors. Track and follow up on maintenance of files including but not limited to: rate and payment changes, automatic payment, online banking, insurance, UCC renewals, financial statements and tax returns, corporate verification of status, inspections, etc. Follow up and assist Loan Servicing on maintenance of files and needed documentation. Actively participates in Bank related and community volunteer events. Assists the Relationship Managers with marketing and workflow as needed. Monitor loans serviced through loan servicing to ensure that required changes are made and are accurate; work as liaison with other departments. Refer likely candidates for the Bank products and services to the appropriate person for follow up and close of sale. Provide clerical assistance as needed, answering telephones, taking messages, etc. Assist customers and branch personnel with questions or problems concerning loans. Maintain and balance holdover accounts, balance budget, and upload accounts payable for the department as assigned. Help department on marketing as needed. Help complete and maintain reports, forms, and files for adverse action to ensure compliance. Ensures documents are within the lending policies and procedures of the bank. Prepare monthly Production Report for the department. Compile Maturing Loans Report and Past Due Report monthly. Maintain service level expectations as defined by the bank. Performs related duties as assigned. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. About You REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent 3 years of clerical experience in a banking environment Fundamental Understanding of banking, accounting, legal or related experience Ability to Multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently Strong written and verbal communication skills to maintain quality customer service Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent customer service experience Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other basic office equipment PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: TechXpert certification Familiarity with Mountain West Bank systems WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
