About the Role

Essential Functions
Set up, operate, and adjust machines and auxiliary equipment.
Supply machines with resins and packing supplies from satellite areas.
Make roll changes, take samples, label and pack product, and stretch wrap finished loads.
Conduct certain quality tests and monitor product to ensure conformance to spec.
Make inventory transactions and restock unused resins.
Move waste and recycle loads to specified area so Production Suppliers can pick up.
Material handling.
Other duties as assigned by supervision.
Compensation Compensation:
$23.64/hour + premiums, including Double Time on Sundays and Holidays!
Pay Progression:
After a probationary period (400 hours), $25.58/hour + premiums. After 1 year, the pay increases to $27.81/hour + premiums!
Schedule
12-hour rotating shift (6:30–6:30) switching from days to nights. Employees work either 3 or 4 shifts in a row. Each set of shifts is either days or nights. In-between those sets of shifts, employees get 1, 3, or 7 days off in a row depending on where they are in the 28‑day shift rotation.
Only scheduled 2 weekends a month.
8-hour rotating shift Monday‑Friday, either first, second or third shift for a whole week and then the next week it would change to another shift. Example: First week in the month you work 3rd shift, second week you work 2nd shift and third week you work 1st shift. Then the rotation starts over.
Utility Workers
Provide support to Amcor by assisting in producing quality product in a safe and efficient manner.
Communicates with supervisor throughout the shift to determine which lines are the highest priority (Make Ready, Die Clean, Size Change).
Assists operator in taking off completed rolls, aligning cores, and replacing shafts.
Helps operator take samples, weigh rolls, pack and band finished rolls.
Assists operator to ensure proper labeling of finished goods.
Slabs off reject or make‑ready stock from core.
Responsible for maintaining Resin: replace and breakdown empty pillar packs of resin; refill toes of resin at the proper mini farm; and blend resin at out‑of‑line blender.
Aids the operator when starting up the machine by pulling drool rings, pulling up the bubble, separating the web, and disposing of junk rolls.
Acts in the place of the operator during their absence.
Performs general clean‑up of machines and work area.
Helps maintain common areas by banding and removing stacks of pillar packs, taking out junk pallets, removing and replacing junk core pillar packs for resale, and resolving pillar pack issues.
For Wax Department ONLY
(8‑hour role) – Routine facility care (janitorial).
Performs other miscellaneous duties related to the job as assigned by supervision.
Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated extrusion machine competencies or ability to demonstrate them within prescribed training timeframe.
Ability to use computer keyboard, mouse, and printer for entering and documenting production settings and data.
Mobile equipment license or ability to obtain license.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team environment.
Authority
To shut down or lock out equipment reasonably believed to be hazardous.
To give final release on product within specifications.
To make good faith efforts to troubleshoot and correct problems or behaviors.
