We’re hiring a reliable and process-driven painter who is comfortable talking with clients to understand their needs. Our painters perform a variety of duties, including scaffold assembly, sanding down old paint, filling in drywall holes, mixing paint, and painting interior or exterior walls. Our ideal candidate has previous work experience as a house and industrial painter and is comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools to get the job done. Erect scaffolding when required Match and mix paint to job specifications Apply primer or sealers to paint surfaces Prepare surfaces for painting by filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding Communicate with clients to determine their needs and advise them on the right approach Protect trim, floors, fixtures, and furniture from paint using drop cloths and covers Repair small drywall patches Maintain a neat and tidy work area Qualifications
2+ years work experience and completed apprenticeship is preferred, but not required A high school diploma or GED is preferred Candidates should have strong time management, communication skills, and attention to detail Stamina, standing for long periods of time, dexterity, and physical strength is required Knowledge of basic painting materials and tools is preferred, but we will provide training Must live within 50 miles of Auburn Hills, Michigan, to be considered for this position Minimum 1-2 years of professional painting experience (residential and/or commercial preferred) Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and proper use of brushes, rollers, and sprayers Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolding Experience with drywall patching, sanding, caulking, taping, and priming surfaces Understanding of different paint types and finishes, including interior/exterior applications Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to follow job site safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently or as part of a team Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with clients and coworkers Compensation
