Base pay range: $42,235.00 /yr - $42,235.00 /yr
Essential Functions
Collect (and deliver) all USPS university related mail and packages from USPS North End Branch (including four university department PO boxes). USPS is visited twice daily, Monday – Friday.
Sort mail and packages, sending to the OPEX mail sorting room for processing and delivery; barcoded packages added to the QTRAK package tracking system.
Process WSU PO items via the WayneBuy system, research unknown mail, and maintain shipping records.
Process outbound mail received throughout the day on the university’s mail metering machines, and sort inbound interoffice mail and packages.
Deliver mail and packages to WSU buildings and other buildings that house WSU employees; collect outbound mail and intra/inter‑campus deliveries.
Assist with special pickup and delivery requests.
Respond to phone and e‑mail inquiries from WSU employees and shippers; contact outside vendors, university buyers, and requisitioners to resolve orders, discrepancies, and shortages.
Maintain appropriate records and reports.
Manage fleet vehicle logs; perform routine maintenance of mail‑sorting equipment and outbound mail‑processing equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent combination of education or experience.
Experience: Entry level – less than a year of job‑related experience.
Additional Comments
Reasonable knowledge of university procurement procedures.
Some knowledge and experience with power‑assisted material handling equipment.
Possession and maintenance of a valid Michigan vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Some knowledge of university locations.
Must maintain security clearances.
Ability to load, transport, and place objects up to 70 lbs in appropriate locations.
Good understanding of current computer and related electronic technologies such as iPads.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues.
Effective communication skills.
May provide direction to a small number (1‑3) of college work‑study students as needed.

Compensation type: Annual Salary
Salary minimum: $42,235
Salary maximum: $50,683
Working Conditions
Position must be filled pursuant to collective bargaining agreement and may be filled by a qualified bargaining unit member.
Daily indoor and outdoor work environment throughout the seasons.
