Heavy Equipment Mechanic
– Grand County
Responsibilities
Perform skilled, journey‑level mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of heavy and light equipment.
Oversee the work of support laborers.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED plus four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
State of Colorado commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class B minimum with tanker and airbrakes endorsements. The department will assist in obtaining a CDL if needed.
Ability to acquire a flagging card, MSHA training, enroll in LTAP, and first‑aid and CPR certification within six months of appointment. The requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
ASE certification; MIG, TIG, Oxy‑Acetylene welding certificates.
Commit to continuing education when available.
