Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated
Commodity Merchandiser
to join our team. This role is responsible for the procurement, storage, sales, and logistics of finished soybean products while supporting trading strategies, market development, and risk management activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, global marketplace. Responsibilities
Trade finished soybean products and support futures and cash positions. Negotiate and execute purchase and sales contracts with suppliers and domestic/international customers. Build and maintain strong business relationships with key partners. Coordinate with operations, accounting, and transportation teams to manage inventories and logistics. Prepare, process, and verify contracts and invoices. Participate in supply chain and risk management, including hedging activities. Ensure compliance with documentation and industry regulations. Research and analyze domestic and international market trends. Assist with monthly and year-end reporting. Represent the company at customer visits, industry events, and plant sites. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture, or related field. 1–3 years of experience in agribusiness, trade support, or commodity merchandising preferred (entry-level candidates with strong potential will be considered). Knowledge of commodity futures, hedging, and international trade preferred. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Willingness to travel to plant sites, customer locations, and industry events (including international travel, nights, and weekends).
