Nutrition Aide staff members are part of the patient care delivery support staff. They are tasked with assisting in the provision of food service to patients in OSUH, James, Ross, NSF and Dodd Hall. In this position you will provide direct meal and nourishment service to patients, communicate with patients for alternate selections when needed, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Provide direct meal and nourishment service to patients.
Communicate with patients for alternate selections when needed.
Assist in the provision of food service to patients in designated facilities.
Maintain patient kitchen supplies.
Follow sanitation procedures.
Transport tray carts to and from patient kitchens.
Provide customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
Use appropriate communication skills.
Qualifications
Knowledge of dietetic standards and ability to interact with patient care staff regarding special diet orders.
Ability to communicate with a variety of patients, visitors and staff to meet patient care requirements.
Ability to read and write simple sentences; able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
One course or more of experience in food service and public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education Minimum Education Required: Per Classified Civil Service Specs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
