Role Overview My client is seeking a
Property Underwriting background
where this candidate would join a high-performing team in New York City. This hybrid role combines traditional underwriting support with some catastrophe modeling exposure. The ideal candidate will have approximately
4-5 years of property underwriting experience
and either exposure to or a strong interest in CAT modeling. Training will be provided for the modeling component, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their technical skill set.
This position offers direct exposure to senior leadership and plays a critical role in evaluating risk and supporting underwriting decisions.
Location & Compensation Hybrid Model:
2x Remote, 3x in office (Tues, Weds, Thurs)

Base pay range:
$120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Chief Underwriting Officer, Property
Candidate Requirements
Experience:
Around 4-5 years in property underwriting or underwriting support
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Environmental Science, or a related field
Technical Skills:
A little familiarity with CAT modeling platforms (RMS, AIR, EQECAT) preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Duties:
Support the underwriting process for new and renewal business; maintain organized underwriting files and ensure timely communication with brokers and internal teams; prepare quotes, endorsements, and policy documents; assist in reviewing policy terms and wordings
Catastrophe Modeling Duties:
Analyze exposure data and interpret model outputs to inform underwriting decisions; collaborate with underwriters to assess risk accumulation and exposure profiles; stay current with CAT modeling trends, tools, and regulatory requirements
