Job Summary The Residential/Commercial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential homes and commercial buildings. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards while ensuring work is completed efficiently and up to code.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential and commercial settings.
Inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and panels, to identify hazards or defects.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine job layouts and wiring routes.
Ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Run conduit, pull wire, and install devices, lighting, and control systems.
Collaborate with other trades and contractors on job sites to coordinate electrical work.
Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness.
Complete work orders, daily reports, and documentation as required.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on all job sites.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
Valid state‑issued electrician license (Journeyman or equivalent).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.
Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA standards, and local electrical codes.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems and using standard tools and testing equipment.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work in a variety of environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors.
Tolerate exposure to heights, noise, and varying weather conditions.
Work Schedule & Environment
Full‑time position with possible overtime, weekends, or on‑call shifts.
Work is performed at various residential and commercial sites.
Dress Code
Company‑provided uniform or work‑appropriate attire.
Safety gear (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots) required at all times on job sites.
