We are seeking a dedicated Punch Press Operator to join our dynamic team on the 2nd shift. Position Overview As a Punch Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press machinery to produce accurate, high-quality metal parts in accordance with engineering specifications. Your attention to detail and understanding of manufacturing processes will ensure efficient production and operational safety. Key Responsibilities Review work orders and associated documentation to determine setup procedures, punching sequences, and dimensional specifications. Interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate part fabrication. Verify material thicknesses and dimensions against specifications to ensure compliance. Set up and operate punch press machines, including mounting, aligning, and securing tooling and dies. Load raw material or blanks, input control commands, and monitor machine operations for consistent quality. Adjust machine speeds, tooling, or parameters as needed to optimize performance. Produce first and last parts for supervisor approval, performing in-process inspections. Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CAD software to verify tolerances. Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machine malfunctions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety protocols. Record production data, non-conformances, and maintenance activities accurately. Assist in cross-training or support other manufacturing functions as needed. Lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience operating punch presses or in metal fabrication manufacturing, preferably within aerospace or high-precision industries. High school diploma or GED required. Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Proficiency with measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic math skills with a focus on measurement and quality control. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Solid understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures. Good communication skills and proficiency in English. Ability to work overtime and adapt to production demands. Work Environment Located on the manufacturing floor with exposure to typical industrial conditions. Physical demands include continuous standing, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
