Location: Slidell, LA Job Summary
The Assembly Technician will assemble, install, and integrate hardware into vehicles. The Technician will identify issues and communicate with the Build Manager, Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, and Material Handlers in support of daily tasks. Essential Functions
Performs manual assembly tasks of installing hardware into the vehicle through work instructions and plant floor guidance. Assembly tasks to occur on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Skilled in the ability to use assembly tools and equipment to install hardware. Ability to drive and perform vehicle functionality throughout the assembly process. Pulls material from kits to install onto vehicles. Support assembly sequence development and execution. Documents/captured tasks completed. Documents/communicates issues to plant floor leadership. Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences. Cleans assembly area, tooling, and parts to maintain safe work environment. Works with Engineering on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Takes initiative for assembly tasks. Support vehicle shipments to different sites. Provide guidance to other Technicians. Supports material handling activities. Staff/Direct Reports

Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED required. 2-4 years' experience in a similar position. OR Equivalent combination of relevant education &/or experience Knowledge Background Prerequisites: Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Physical demands Ability to read and interpret technical data (work instructions, drawings, installation instructions) Ability to use manual and electrical tools and other devices for vehicle assembly Ability to learn to drive ground combat vehicle Ability to learn ground combat vehicle functionality Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Computer Skills: Microsoft, Non-conformance Software, Work Instructions May need to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to understand and follow directions. Considerable knowledge of manufacturing capabilities is required, and previous plant experience is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a self-motivated environment. Ability to understand production schedules and shortages.
