About the Role:

As a Packaging Plant Operator, you’ll be responsible for the efficient operation of equipment used to process, package, and prepare salt products for shipment. This hands‑on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining production quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor packaging line machinery, conveyors, and weighing systems.

Ensure products are filled, sealed, labeled, and palletized according to specifications.

Perform routine quality checks to verify weight, packaging integrity, and labeling accuracy.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

Assist with loading and unloading materials or finished goods as needed.

Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production issues promptly.

Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and with a team.

Experience with Hamer automated packaging/bagging machines is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist for extended periods.

Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms when required.

Manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination to operate machinery safely.

Ability to work in a production environment that involves repetitive motion and consistent physical activity.

Exposure to salt, dust, noise, and varying temperatures in an industrial packaging facility.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection required.

Fast‑paced environment with frequent interaction with production team members.

Willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

Additional Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Employment in this role may be contingent upon the successful completion of certain pre‑employment requirements, which could include a background check, drug screen, or driving record review, depending on the position.
