Fit4Kids Volunteer Engagement & Development VISTA (In-Person) – AmeriCorps
The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and partners in alleviating poverty through organizational capacity building. While working across a range of issue areas—substance use disorder, educational opportunities, and more—AmeriCorps members help increase volunteer impact and pursue healthy futures for all Virginians.
Member Duties
Serve the community and develop professional skills through a year of AmeriCorps VISTA service.
Build capacity by optimizing existing volunteer programs.
Assess opportunities and obstacles within the Young Professionals Board.
Develop a comprehensive community engagement plan.
Apply strong time‑management, communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills; adapt in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrate technological proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and Google Suite; volunteer coordination experience is a plus.
Hold a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to pass a background check.
Program Benefits
Choice of Education Award or End‑of‑Service Stipend.
Childcare assistance if eligible.
Living Allowance.
Relocation Allowance.
