Responsibilities
Evaluate and screen patients; establish treatment goals and implement treatment.
Complete patient teaching and discharge planning.
Provide equipment for diversional activities to be carried out by volunteers or upon the request of a patient or family caregivers.
Update program offerings via treatment techniques, groups, or co-treatments.
Generate activities used in treatment that facilitate the patient’s transition to home/community.
Provide patient treatment via recreational modalities and education material to maximize post‑discharge planning.
Serve as the contact for community links and liaison for patients, staff, and consumers of Rehabilitation Services.
Act as a resource for all areas of the continuum and provide resources and information to anyone in the OSU continuum.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Ohio Driver’s License.
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited school.
Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
One year experience as a CTRS is preferred.
Maintains an active CTRS status and Ohio Driver’s license.
Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
