at a mid‑to‑large‑sized law firm
E‑billing experience required

Role Overview The Senior Billing Specialist will manage a high volume billing portfolio and partner closely with attorneys, assistants, and clients to ensure accurate, timely invoicing. This individual will support complex billing arrangements and electronic billing submission while ensuring compliance with firm procedures and client billing guidelines.
Responsibilities
Process monthly bills accurately and timely, including complex billing arrangements
Review and edit pre‑bills based on attorney and client requirements
Maintain detailed billing instructions and ensure accuracy of client and matter setup
Submit invoices electronically and manage reductions and appeals
Monitor budgets and track potential overages or deficits
Serve as a resource on billing structures and best practices
Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Collections to resolve issues
Create billing schedules and analyses as needed
Assist with special billing projects and process improvement initiatives
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and clients
Monitor write‑offs and carry forwards and elevate issues when necessary
Skills and Technical Requirements
Prior experience in a law firm billing department
Knowledge of Aderant or comparable billing software
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to prioritize and manage a high‑volume workload
Strong analytical and math skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
