Job Title: Technical Writer
Department: Design/Graphics
Division: Litex Industries, Limited.
Reports to: Director of Graphic Services and Marketing
FLSA Status: Exempt
Qualifications
2 plus years of experience as a Technical Writer.
College degree in a related field of study preferred.
Superior writing and proofing skills with diligence regarding grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite.
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
Experienced working individually or in a team environment.
Skilled at multitasking and working in a challenging environment.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory.
Be able to interpret and understand technical information as it relates to products.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficient use of Adobe Creative suite.
Knowledge of Spanish language and correct usage.
Adaptable to change
Primary Purpose
The Technical Writer / Translator is a position that requires strong mindfulness and often involves interaction with our factories, inside sources and our largest customer.
Major Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with internal resources to develop a variety of documents, guides, reference materials, and instructions.
Produce high-quality instruction manuals for our customers to easily understand and follow.
Translate technical assembly of products into easy-to-understand documentation using established template.
Ensure documentation follows the company's standards and branding guidelines.
Gather feedback and revise documentation as needed.
Translate English instruction manuals into Spanish.
Proofread and correct instruction manuals.
Format manuals in to French Canadian.
Attend and give input in project update meetings.
Assist other departments with translations when necessary.
Work with Quality Control department on best assembly methods of products.
Assemble company products from samples to understand the correct and most efficient method of assembly, installation, and operation to create precise installation manuals.
Gather information and understand technical concepts to create accurate and user-friendly installation documentation for company branded products and private label products.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and factories to obtain necessary information.
Review technical specifications to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
Write and edit user manuals, installation guides, and other technical documentation as required.
Organize and structure information effectively to present it clearly and logically, ensuring ease of use and understanding for the target audience.
Ensure consistency and adherence to established documentation standards.
Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and usability.
Keep updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulations to improve documentation quality and effectiveness continuously.
