Saronic is seeking an experienced Income Tax Manager to lead corporate income tax compliance, provision, and audit activities across our global operations. This role serves as the primary liaison between external tax advisors and internal finance teams, ensuring accurate reporting, efficient execution, and compliance with all federal, state, and international tax requirements.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong project management skills and the ability to oversee third‑party providers in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment. Over time, this role will expand to include leadership of indirect tax areas—including sales and use tax, property tax, and incentives—with oversight of a senior‑level indirect tax specialist.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the review of U.S. federal and state income tax returns prepared by external advisors
Manage the preparation and review of the worldwide income tax provision under ASC 740
Coordinate with global finance teams and external providers to support international tax compliance
Contribute to global transfer pricing policy design
Build and maintain effective internal controls over income tax accounting and reporting
Lead and coordinate IRS and state income tax audits, including data collection, response management, and resolution strategies
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and risk reduction in tax workflows
Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and technology to support scalability as the company grows
Stay current on changes in U.S. corporate tax law and accounting standards affecting the business
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, and Operations teams to align tax strategies with broader business objectives
Required Qualifications
6‑8 years of U.S. corporate income tax experience, with a mix of public accounting and industry preferred
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; master’s in taxation preferred
Strong technical understanding of ASC 740 and corporate income tax concepts
Proven ability to lead and manage third‑party tax vendors, ensuring high‑quality and timely deliverables
Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts for non‑tax stakeholders
Expert on key US corporate and partnership income tax concepts, including stock compensation, deferred revenue, R&D credit and fixed assets
Track record of process improvement and automation within tax reporting or compliance functions
Proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, or equivalent)
Exposure to international tax coordination or global tax provision processes
Knowledge of the defense or advanced manufacturing industry is a plus
Unwavering attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
