Responsibilities
Operate community vehicles safely for daily outings, special activities/excursions, and medical appointments.
Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings on-to and off-of community vehicles.
Comply with state and company standards and processes of proper vehicle inspection and driving; demonstrate safe driving during resident transport, observe speed limits while remaining punctual.
Make residents feel comfortable through positive interaction while being transported.
Drive buses, golf carts, and community cars as needed.
Ensure community vehicles are in proper operational order; maintain current registration and insurance information.
Complete daily and weekly safety checks (lights, seat belts, steering, fluid leaks); promptly report safety, mechanical, or maintenance issues to the supervisor; schedule vehicle service as directed.
Maintain communication with the property using cell phone and/or radio; keep the device charged and on during the workday.
Understand that resident safety is paramount.
Assist with planned property activities and programs between scheduled vehicle trips, including event or room set‑up and clean‑up tasks.
Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately.
Relieve the community’s concierge during rest and/or meal periods as requested.
Attend all scheduled in‑service classes.
Support a positive and image through actions and uniform.
Driver schedule will be dayshift hours. Start date will be within 5‑7 days upon job offer agreement.
Qualifications
Must have a clean DMV record and possess a Class C, B, or A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
A good driving record must be maintained.
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and front desk staff.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year(s): Prefer experience with elderly and dementia residents.
Prefer minimum of one year experience driving a vehicle/van.
