
Job Description
Professional level sales position on the commercial side of the automotive business. Responsible for profitable growth through customer retention and expansion. Partners with the GM to manage team members, providing expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts, sourcing from multiple suppliers, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Position is full time.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain commercial customer relationships
Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
Supervise team members and provide day‑to‑day support
Coach and develop team members in collaboration with GM
Dispatch drivers to meet delivery standards
Maintain commercial stocking programs
Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers
Secondary Responsibilities
Maintain core bank and commercial returns
Maintain commercial credit accounts
Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage
Success Factors
Friendly communication and strong customer service
Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
Safety knowledge and adherence to safety practices
Proficiency in inventory systems and store equipment
Parts and automotive system expertise
Proficiency with POS and parts lookup systems
ASE P2 certification or equivalent readiness
Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation skills
Expert sourcing from special order, FDO, second source, etc.
Advanced selling skills for commercial customers
Exceptional multi‑tasking and organization abilities
Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Commercial Parts Pro
Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic skills (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust)
Proficient in spoken and written English; Spanish a plus
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of commercial profitability concepts, competition, market opportunities, and customer prioritization
Willingness to work various days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience that Sets a Commercial Parts Pro up for Success
Minimum 3 years of automotive parts experience preferred
Proven sales ability in fulfilling customer transactions
Formal or informal leadership experience supervising daily tasks and achieving goals
Education High school diploma or GED.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Physical Demands Requires primarily walking or standing; involves talking, hearing, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds). Good vision required.
Work Environment Mostly indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather. May involve moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, vibration, and moderate noise.
