Civil Aviation BIM Specialist 3 – HDR Responsibilities

Functions in a drawing production engineering technician capacity

Under minimum supervision, performs basic functions requiring technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables

Evaluates methods used to accomplish the drafting and/or design activities

Responsible for drafting/designing HDR Aviation projects in Civil 3D and other Autodesk products

Develop or modify deliverables based on rough sketches, marked‑up copies, and/or detailed verbal instructions

Develop deliverables with necessary views, sections, and details using Company and/or Client standards and procedures with supervision

Learn and understand project and Company standards and procedures

Perform minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc, as assigned

Learn new programs or processes required for assignments

Continuously evaluate methods used to accomplish assigned activities

Ensure deliverables comply with Company and/or Client Standards, sketches, marked copies, and written or verbal instructions

Effectively communicate and correspond with team members

Technical Competencies

Intermediate knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills

Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, and departmental guides

Experience/knowledge in one or more of the following:

Civil 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud experience

Experience with drafting/design in multiple software programs (school, internship, and/or work)

Basic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience

A minimum of 5 years related industry experience

Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure

Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool

Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools

Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts

Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
