Respiratory Clinical Sales Specialist Reports To
VP of Clinical Sales
Summary
The Respiratory Sales Specialist implements all Respiratory/Ventilation sales activities and is responsible for achieving revenue objectives. The role provides clinical and educational tools and programs to ensure successful understanding and application of the respiratory product line. Primary referral sources include pulmonologists, PCPs, ALS clinics, hospitals, and LTACs. The specialist assists in developing and expanding new and existing business through in-services, training programs, and their respiratory clinical expertise, focusing on generating referrals and ensuring successful setup of clinical respiratory equipment. They provide ongoing education to referral sources and handle related paperwork in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide clinical services and education to patients to improve quality of life, respiratory conditions, and to prevent hospital readmissions. Assess new and current accounts to determine referral numbers and projected usage of services. Present product and clinical applications to customers and physicians to increase knowledge of respiratory/ventilation product lines and pulmonary disease management. Serve as a well-rounded Respiratory Therapist with therapy solutions for patients transitioning home with respiratory conditions; provide support, education, and interventions to keep them at home. Perform product demonstrations for ventilation product lines and lead demonstrations without the manufacturer’s support representative when needed. Provide respiratory services to patients to enhance quality of life; evaluate effectiveness of the current regimen and contribute to the interdisciplinary plan of care; instruct patients and caregivers on respiratory care and equipment protocols. Requirements & Qualifications
Associate Degree (A.S.) or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years’ experience in Respiratory Therapy including home care and hospital experience; sleep laboratory experience is a plus. ICU experience in a hospital setting preferred. CRT, RRT, or RPSGT certification required; some states may require RN. Current state license or appropriate registration; may be required to obtain additional state licenses to expand geographical coverage. Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record. Must meet minimum age requirements for company auto insurance. At least 1 year of sales experience in healthcare or selling services preferred. Proficient in basic computer operations (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, Teams) and ability to run reports and assess data.
