Respiratory Clinical Sales Specialist Reports to:
VP of Clinical Sales Summary
The Respiratory Sales Specialist implements all respiratory/ventilation sales activities and is responsible for achieving revenue objectives. The specialist provides clinical and educational tools and programs to ensure successful understanding and application of the respiratory product line. Primary referral sources include pulmonologists, PCPs, ALS clinics, hospitals, and LTACs. The role supports development and expansion of new and existing business through in-services, training programs, and clinical respiratory expertise, focusing on generating and securing referrals and the transition to clinical respiratory equipment setup. Ongoing education to referral sources and completion of appropriate paperwork in a timely manner are required.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide clinical services and education to patients to improve quality of life, respiratory conditions, and prevent hospital readmissions. Assess new and current accounts to determine referral numbers and projected usage of services. Present product and clinical applications to customers and physicians to increase knowledge of respiratory/ventilation product lines and pulmonary disease management. Serve as a well-rounded respiratory therapist providing therapy solutions for patients transitioning home with respiratory conditions; offer support, education, and interventions to keep them there. Perform product demonstrations for all ventilation product lines and lead demonstrations without the manufacturer’s support when needed. Provide respiratory services to patients, evaluate effectiveness of current regimens, and contribute to the interdisciplinary plan of care to optimize respiratory function. Instruct patients and caregivers on appropriate respiratory care and equipment protocols. Complete all other requirements related to the sales position. Requirements & Qualifications
Associates Degree (A.S.) or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years’ experience in Respiratory Therapy spanning homecare and hospital settings; sleep laboratory experience is a plus. ICU experience in a hospital setting preferred. CRT, RRT, or RPSGT certification; RN in some states. Current state license or appropriate registration. May be required to obtain additional state licenses to expand geographic coverage. Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record. Minimum of 1 year of sales experience in the healthcare field or experience selling services preferred. Proficient in basic computer operations (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, Teams, calendar apps). Ability to run reports and assess data objectively. Must be 21 years or older to be covered on company auto insurance.
