What To Expect
As a Construction Mechanical Insulator at Tesla will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and tasks, including duct insulation, pipe insulation, and building insulation. A well-qualified applicant should have experience in various aspects of commercial and industrial insulation. You will also be required to work alongside other trades as a team and participate in the training of new employees.
What You'll Do
An understanding of the many types of HVAC insulation systems for both pipe and ductwork as well as fiberglass building insulation
Have a passion for working on a variety of insulation systems
Be willing to stop unsafe actions and have a positive safety attitude
Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies
What You'll Bring
5+ years' experience in HVAC and piping insulation on commercial/industrial construction sites
Knowledge of hand tools, aerial lifts, and fall protection equipment
Versatility to handle job scopes beyond core competencies
Strong job site safety knowledge, hazard evaluation, and pre-work task planning
Ability to work at elevations up to 80 ft.
Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, ability to work independently, and experience with various insulation systems, metal jacketing, blanketing, and fabrication; Willingness to travel
