Athletic Trainer - IRP
Department Ambulatory Services | Sports Medicine Administration
Scope of Position This position is responsible for providing outreach athletic training as well as some rehabilitation and medical office support services for clinical areas of the Sports Medicine Center. The Sports Medicine Center is a multi-disciplinary outpatient program that provides health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities. The Center's services include physician services, physical therapy and athletic training, education and research programs and community outreach programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Outreach activities consisting of event coverage for high school, recreational or club sports.
Provision of components of physical therapy treatment plans while working under the direct supervision of the treating physical therapist.
Supervise supportive clinical personnel (e.g., aides, students), participate in a teaching capacity, and assist with administrative procedures.
Work within the scope of practice as outlined by the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an approved education program in athletic training and/or related health science field.
State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license and NATA certification.
Two to three years experience in an out‑patient orthopedic/sports medicine facility preferred.
Previous experience working with athletic populations required.
