Job Description Arzuman Brothers is looking to hire a Construction Superintendent to work for a luxury design and construction company. The Construction Superintendent (CS) is responsible for overseeing the on-site execution of construction projects, ensuring all activities align with the company’s quality and schedule standards. Reporting to the Construction Manager, Quality Control Manager (QCM) or CEO designee, the CS supervises field operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, blueprints, building codes, and subcontract agreements. The CS coordinates trade partners, tracks daily progress, and addresses site issues to maintain cost, schedule, and quality standards. Additionally, the CS ensures a safe work environment, upholds OSHA standards, minimizes risks, and collaborates with teams for efficient project completion within budget and timelines.

Essential Job Functions

Review project plans, specifications, and design details for accuracy and compliance.

Verify contracts, blueprints, and planning resources prior to project start.

Coordinate daily activities of construction teams and trades, ensuring work aligns with scope, schedule, and budget.

Manage city and county inspections, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.

Provide schedule updates on company platforms.

Coordinate scheduling with subcontractors, inspectors, architects, and vendors.

Direct on-site activities based on blueprints and instructions, organizing progress meetings.

Evaluate and source new construction methods and materials.

Maintain and update project forms, schedules, and reports, traveling between sites as needed.

Process invoices and contracts, obtaining approvals for changes.

Participate in regular project meetings.

Utilize time-tracking platforms per company policies.

Manage site keys, lockboxes, and access devices.

Safety and Compliance

Maintain knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.

Ensure site safety, cleanliness, and proper material storage.

Inspect subcontractors’ work for quality and compliance.

Oversee environmental compliance to reduce violations and fines.

Quality Control & Documentation

Review plans and blueprints for discrepancies before starting.

Ensure permits are reviewed and accessible throughout construction.

Inspect daily work, maintaining quality control documentation.

Evaluate subcontractor performance and quality of work.

Maintain project files, progress videos/photos, and documentation.

Conduct site walkthroughs and verify scope with subcontractors.

Complete punch lists before project handover.

Prepare and submit project status reports.

Address subcontractor and vendor issues promptly.

Escalate major issues to management.

Other Duties

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years recent experience in construction management.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle, preferably a pickup truck.

Ability to follow supervisor’s directions.

Willingness to work extra hours and alternate Saturdays.

OSHA 10-hour certification required; First aid certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to interpret plans and building codes.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Ability to oversee all construction aspects, including scheduling and quality.

Physical Expectations

Ability to inspect all areas of the site in various weather conditions.

Lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel as needed.

Exposure to construction hazards such as dust and chemicals.
