Proven experience in purchasing, preferably in a construction or mechanical contracting environment Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing materials and systems is a plus Understanding of material and equipment market trends and supplier capabilities Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is a plus Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and transparent environment Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Source and procure HVAC and plumbing materials and equipment in accordance with project specifications and schedules Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines to ensure cost-effective procurement Evaluate bids based on bills of materials, manage material buyouts, coordinate releases, and monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery Collaborate with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, VDC, prefabrication teams, and field forepersons to align procurement efforts with project requirements Prepare submittals and maintain accurate project documentation Perform cost analysis and support budget adherence Forecast levels of demand, manage inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to avoid shortages or overstock Review and approve invoices in a timely manner Prepare procurement reports as needed for project tracking and forecasting How We Work: EOS + Continuous Improvement
