Construction Superintendent

CBRE Government & Defense Services . The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the daily operations of the work from planning project activities to overseeing their completion. Tasks include scheduling work to proceed according to a strict schedule, coordinating and monitoring subcontractor performance, ensuring work aligns with contract documents, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring construction is completed with high quality. Primary Job Functions
Responsible for scheduling construction activities and overall project completion time based on IAW project plans and specs. Communicate with customers and subcontractors regarding any deviations from the schedule. Read and interpret construction drawings to direct subcontractors in the execution of work. Plan, direct, and budget for assigned projects; perform challenging construction and project management functions. Handle construction and project management administration, including reporting project fund status, reviewing billing procedures, and submitting contractual requirements. Assist with project design reviews to achieve contractual objectives and provide direction to subcontractors, support staff, trades and crafts. Monitor requirements necessary to obtain progress payments, quantity options, government-furnished property, and administer specific phases of complex contracts. Develop agendas for weekly and pre-/post-job conferences. Perform desktop publishing and assist in developing visual presentations for the section. Prepare worksheets for cost accounting by analyzing blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consult with engineering staff as required. Assist Site Manager / Project Manager with budgets for assigned projects. Stay current with government regulations and commercial trends; monitor compliance with Service Contract Act, Davis-Bacon Act and other Federal regulations as required. Maintain customer relations through face-to-face and digital communication. Professional appearance is desirable. Perform remedial tasks using basic computer software for scheduling, updating reports, and email. Schedule work and maintain the project schedule. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Experience And Certification
Required: Education Level – Associate's degree in a related field Required: Years of Experience – 10 years of relevant work experience Required: Supervisory experience – Yes Required: Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting, and general construction experience (medical repairs and renewal) in healthcare facilities Preferred: ASHE HCC certification Required: Must pass Corps of Engineers CQM class for contractors Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Advanced management, employee, and customer relations skills Advanced verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project) Experience with P6 (Oracle) and ProCore preferred High attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks Financial Responsibilities
Contributes to the financial management of a task order budget and ensures subcontractors meet contractual responsibilities within or under budget; actions impact project revenue over the duration of the task order. Other Details
