Job Summary : This position is responsible for execution and strategic oversight of assigned categories, including negotiation, budgeting, forecasting, aligning customer needs with program. Responsibilities: Participate in the financial planning and forecasting process. Develop category sourcing strategy and recommendations in conjunction with key business partners. Conduct industry analysis to provide proactive insight to develop a 3-year category strategy. Partner with Sourcing team to support negotiating & executing preferred supplier contracts. Provide ongoing trend analysis (business performance & drivers) to seize value-creating opportunities & corrective actions. Research current state and future needs, analysis of market trends and potential suppliers, and identification of continuous improvement opportunities. Responsible for development of comprehensive strategy reports. Identify, design & execute cost savings projects within assigned categories. Manage supplier performance - escalation resolution management. Create & deliver presentations with customer & competitive insights, recommendations. Ownership of required internal processes including budgeting, contract attributes, benchmarking, pricing, product recommendations, etc. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain, category, finance, or related field; supplier management experience preferred. Strong negotiation experience. Presentation Experience. Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills. Ability to influence through direct and indirect teams. Knowledge / Experience of budgets and forecasting. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Travel is up to 5% annually. Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
