I’m recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing exterior construction firm with a strong reputation for quality and a collaborative, engineering-forward culture. If you’re early in your estimating career (or an APM ready to pivot) and want real mentorship, structured training, and clear growth, this is a standout opportunity.
Why this role is compelling
Career runway: The estimating group is expanding with tangible plans through 2026—great timing to join and grow. Real mentorship: You’ll be trained by seasoned leaders and paired with field experts for “reality checks” on scopes and production. Balanced work: Expect a mix of focused office time with practical site visits and bid walks—never stuck behind a screen all week. Team bonus model: Bonus is tied to department performance, creating a genuinely collaborative environment. Tools without barriers: Excel is the day-to-day workhorse; exposure to platforms like Procore and ERP tools (e.g., Sage) is helpful but not required—you’ll be supported. What you’ll do
Build and refine quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for exterior scopes (waterproofing, masonry, concrete repair/restoration, façade work, etc.). Join pre-bid meetings, bid walks, and site verifications alongside engineers—never on an island. Review plans, specs, RFPs, and addenda to confirm scope, assumptions, and pricing. Partner with business development and operations to translate scope into clear, accurate proposals. Maintain and leverage cost databases and production rates to continuously improve estimate quality. Communicate proactively with teammates, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve questions early. What makes you a great fit
Experience: 1–2+ years in estimating, construction, or a related APM role (we’re open to industry backgrounds and will train on specialties). Education: Degree is welcome but not essential—we value common sense, curiosity, and ownership. Skills:
Strong Excel fundamentals; familiarity with any estimating or project platforms is a plus. Clear, professional communication—comfortable bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders. High attention to detail and task management—you’ll get hands-on coaching, then own your work.
Mindset: Self-starter, collaborative, and hungry to learn. You appreciate structure but don’t need hand-holding forever. Base: $60,000–$80,000 (commensurate with experience). Perks: vehicle allowance, cell stipend, and medical/dental/vision coverage. Work style: Hybrid—typically 2–3 days in office, with site visits spread across the week as projects require. Growth & Visibility
The group has defined expansion goals (including more estimators and engineers) with formalized training and standardized processes rolling out. You’ll have visibility to leadership, and the team actively invests in your development—this is a great place to level up from junior to intermediate quickly. Ready to explore?
If this sounds like the kind of team where you’ll learn fast, contribute meaningfully, and grow, apply today for immediate consideration! #LI-MB1 #LI-Onsite Job ID:
