Bellman (Bell Attendant)

Front Desk Manager or Guest Services Manager
Position Summary The Bellman is responsible for creating a welcoming, seamless arrival and departure experience for hotel guests. This role involves handling luggage, escorting guests, providing information about hotel amenities and local attractions, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction through attentive, courteous service.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage, ensuring safe and careful handling.
Escort guests to their rooms, offering information on hotel facilities, services, and room features.
Deliver luggage, packages, messages, and other items to guest rooms promptly.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby, bell desk, and luggage storage areas.
Arrange transportation requests such as taxis, rideshares, and shuttle services.
Provide directions, recommendations, and general information about the local area.
Assist with valet duties if required (depending on property).
Handle guest requests efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Coordinate with the front desk, concierge, and housekeeping to support smooth operations.
Ensure proper tagging and storage of guest luggage; maintain accurate records.
Follow safety and security procedures, including verifying guest identity when handling luggage.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior customer service or hospitality experience is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional, courteous, and guest-focused demeanor.
Ability to lift and move heavy luggage (typically up to 50 lbs or as defined by property).
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
