JOB SUMMARY
With supervision, delivers programs and events directly to the public; open and close facilities; assist with planning, gathering and organizing supplies/equipment, set‑up, assigning duties and take‑down for programs and events; perform cursory cleanup of facility as needed; follow all City and Center policies and procedures; responsible for the care and safety of participants.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of basic cash handling.
Experience in working with children.
Excellent communication skills and customer service.
Experience with public programs/events preferred.
Ability to obtain relevant certifications within the time period designated by supervisor.
Ability to multitask.
Must pass background check and pre‑employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment. A motor vehicle record check and job‑related doctor's physical exam may also be required. Safety‑sensitive positions remain subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire.
Education and Experience:
Minimum age of 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Special Requirements:
Must comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy.
Possession of a valid Texas class "C" driver's license or higher.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
