Overview The Denver Civil Service Commission and the City and County of Denver are accepting applications for entry‑level police recruits for the 2026 Police Academies, scheduled as follows. We reserve the right to change dates if necessary.
26‑1 – scheduled to start on March 16, 2026
26‑2 – scheduled to start on June 22, 2026
26‑3 – scheduled to start on December 28, 2026
Application Process Please complete the initial application on a laptop or personal computer; we do not recommend using a cell phone.
After submitting the Workday application, you will receive an email. If you are not automatically disqualified, you may schedule the National Testing Network (NTN) test.
If you are notified that you do
NOT
meet the minimum qualifications, email the Denver Civil Service Commission at cscinfo@denvergov.org.
If you have technical problems with Workday, contact the Workday Service Desk at (720) 337‑4357, option #2.
For testing, visit the NTN website at https://nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/search.cfm?position=1&state=All+States. A fee is required to take the Frontline National Examination; a waiver can be requested for financial hardship.
Testing takes a maximum of 20 minutes per section.

Responsibilities Police officers are responsible for performing the essential functions of the job, including:
Suppressing crime
Protecting life and property
Investigating criminal activity
Apprehending and arresting violators of criminal and traffic laws
Recovering stolen property
Regulating non‑criminal conduct
Patrolling an assigned sector, precinct, or area
Investigating unusual persons and circumstances, vehicular accidents, and all police calls as ordered by the dispatcher
Preparing detailed reports of all occurrences
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum age of 21 at time of application
High School Diploma or G.E.D. certification
No felony convictions or legal impediments to perform essential job functions
Valid driver’s license
Colorado residency at time of hire
Eligibility for Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
Ability to legally purchase and possess a firearm
