This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**Reporting to the Administrative Officer III. this position is primarily responsible for planning, delivering, implementing, and coordinating the training activities for all employees assigned to Anson Correctional Institution. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Reviewing all Requests for Training and Applications for Education Assistance, reviewing, scheduling, coordination, and conducting mandatory annual in-service training for certified and non-certified staff as required by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standard Commission.
2. Assisting with the scheduling of Correctional Officer Basic Training for all new employees who are required by their job classification to attend this training.
3. Conducting the Annual Recertification Training for assigned Certified, General and Specialized instructors.
4. Reviewing, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting New Hire Orientation.
5. Performing other related duties as needed.
(Salary Range: $39,671 - $69,426)**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now must meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the "Minimum Education and Experience" listed from the OSHR class specification as seen in the next section below.
