It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**Reporting to the Administrative Officer III. this position is primarily responsible for planning, delivering, implementing, and coordinating the training activities for all employees assigned to Anson Correctional Institution. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Reviewing all Requests for Training and Applications for Education Assistance, reviewing, scheduling, coordination, and conducting mandatory annual in-service training for certified and non-certified staff as required by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standard Commission.

2. Assisting with the scheduling of Correctional Officer Basic Training for all new employees who are required by their job classification to attend this training.

3. Conducting the Annual Recertification Training for assigned Certified, General and Specialized instructors.

4. Reviewing, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting New Hire Orientation.

5. Performing other related duties as needed.

Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender.
