HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD. We are searching for an experienced, committed, career-minded Heavy Diesel Mechanic to be part of our growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic test to discover functionality issues.
Operate hand and power shop tools.
Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Maintains an accurate schedule and legible record of equipment and vehicle maintenance logs and reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Follow all safety policies and use of proper PPE
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
Heavy diesel mechanic experiences are a must
Must be able to provide and use a good working set of mechanics tools
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understand and follow directions from supervisors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift and move up to 75 pounds
Stand for prolonged amounts of time
Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
Willing to work overtime as needed
Able to work from elevated platforms
SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
2+ years’ experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
