Senior CNC Machinist - Milling & Turning (Top-Tier Talent) Location: S&S Machine, Amherst NH
Pay: Top of market for the right candidate
Schedule: Full-Time | 7 -4: 30
We are looking for a Senior CNC Machinist who can own the job from print to part. This role is for an experienced professional-not an operator. If you are confident in complex setups, tight tolerances, and solving problems at the machine, we want to talk to you.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior CNC Machinist, based in Amherst, NH. The role involves operating, setting up, and programming CNC machines to fabricate precision components. The Senior CNC Machinist will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, maintain equipment, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and mentoring junior machinists.
What You'll Do
Independently set up, program, and run CNC milling and or turning jobs
Read and interpret complex blueprints with confidence
Apply GD&T correctly and consistently
Hold tight tolerances in a precision environment
Perform first-article and in-process inspections
Troubleshoot tooling, programming, and process issues
Improve cycle times, setups, and overall efficiency
Support and mentor junior machinists when needed
What You Must Have
7+ years CNC machining experience (milling and or turning)
Expert-level blueprint reading and GD&T
Proven ability to take a job from print to finished part
Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and cutting strategies
High standards for quality, accuracy, and repeatability
Self-starter mindset-minimal supervision required
Strong Pluses (Not Required, But Valued)
CAM experience with Mastercam or Fusion 360
Ability to program at the machine
Hurco conversational programming experience
Prototype and/or complex low-volume work experience
Lead or senior-level shop experience
