team, who provide Continuity of Care for women planning a birth within the community setting. If providing true woman centred, autonomous care that makes significant differences to the lives of women and their families is what inspires you as a midwife, then this role is perfect for you. You will be providing a service that covers a large geographical area which includes Basingstoke, Andover, Winchester & Eastleigh, and surrounding areas supporting women in their choice of birthplace. Main duties of the job

In line with Better Births our Blossom & Bloom case loading midwives follow a woman's personal journey from booking through to discharge from midwifery led care, working alongside our multi-disciplinary team to provide individualised care for the women in their case load. You will either be NIPE trained or willing to train in NIPE's and have a shared interest with your team in delivering informed and up to date antenatal education sessions with your clients. There is a requirement to participate in working in an on-call model of care to facilitate community birth over a 24-hour period. About us

You will be a passionate and woman centred midwife with either experience in case loading midwifery or a desire for your career to include continuity for women and their families. Someone who is pro-active, can organise their own workload, be flexible and adaptable with excellent team working skills. You will be a car driver and have a flexible approach to work within your team to provide overnight on call shifts. Training & Qualifications

Diploma/degree level Registered Midwife with evidence of further professional development. Champion for midwifery led care. NIPE trained. Attended cultural awareness course Experience & Knowledge

Experience of working in all clinical settings. Ability to assess patient need and risk. Able to make appropriate clinical decisions in view of recent research, informed choice and individual circumstances. Understanding of cultural diversity. Experience with multi-lingual backgrounds. Good understanding and experience with safeguarding policies and working with vulnerable families. Skills & Ability

Mentorship module or equivalent. Demonstrates competent in dealing with obstetric emergencies in hospital and community setting. Demonstrate competence in: perineal suturing, cannulation, homebirth, epidural top ups, caring for women birthing their babies in water and in the home/birth centre setting. Can demonstrate evidence of involvement in service improvement. Has worked in a small team and can demonstrate autonomous responsibility of caseload. Ability to demonstrate evidence of line management of non-midwifery staff for example MSWs. Other Specific Requirements

Organise and adjust own workload in relation to priorities. Ability to work flexible hours including on call shifts, partake in internal rotation to meet the needs of the service as required. Valid driving licence and ability to drive using own transport. Demonstrate ability to be IT literate, use of word, excel, powerpoint and NHS IT systems. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
