Naik Consulting Group is currently seeking a
Junior Structural Engineer
to join our growing transportation and infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer eager to develop technical skills, gain hands‑on project experience, and work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and construction professionals.
Responsibilities
Assist in the analysis and design of structural components for transportation and infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, retaining walls, culverts, stations, and other civil structures)
Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Support construction engineering and inspection activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, construction management, and inspection staff
Perform site visits and field observations as needed
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements (e.g., AASHTO, DOT, local agencies)
Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)
0–3 years of relevant experience (internship or co‑op experience considered)
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, RAM, or similar)
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (experience with Revit is a plus)
Basic understanding of transportation infrastructure design standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
