Overview
We are seeking a full-time
S
emiconductor Technology & Strategy Leader
in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will drive technology, engage with semiconductor suppliers, and ensure that the best solutions are selected for use in our products. This is a crucial role where you will have ownership to create and drive Garmin strategy for semiconductors. Working across different Garmin businesses, you will guide the engineering teams and set up decisions that directly impact our product’s competitiveness and fundamental success
Essential Functions
Manage relationships through supplier engagement and assessment as well as segment communication, coordination, alignment and knowledge management
Drive technology selection, testing, troubleshooting and cost reduction strategy
Coordinate supplier releationships - develop existing relationshps and initiate dialogue with new suppliers
Serve as the semiconductor interface to the Executive team
Drive technology through researching, testing and validating new suppliers/components to ensure evolutionary improvements in current technologies and ensuring Garmin has and is first to market with revolutionary new and exciting technologies
Push for evolutionary improvements in current technologies
Ensure product relevancy by developing and maintaining inside knowledge of product requirements and selecting the best technology for each product type
International travel required (10% or less)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related field
AND
a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in the component technology industries
Demonstrated success in working business deals and negotiations as well as strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must possess the ability to lead and sell strategies across Garmin business segments
Demonstrated knowledge of Garmin’s overall product line and customers
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in technical marketing or sales, Field Applications Engineering (FAE) expereince, System Engineering experience or experience as a Technical Commodity Manager
Business Development experience with semiconductors or similar component technology
