Dietary Aide (Part-Time)

Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of nutritional services to the residents.
Check the bulletin board at each shift for daily menu, work assignment, work schedules and daily activities.
Check and stock the nourishment station on the assigned floor.
Obtain prepared nourishment labels from the dietary office and prepare sandwiches, etc. for residents as specified.
Deliver nourishments to respective floors at specific times as indicated on labels.
Secure and obtain dishes, cups, bowls, silverware, trays and tray trucks from the kitchen.
Assemble food items (bread, dessert, condiments) on the tray as specified on the diet card.
Place the diet card on the tray.
Dishes out and portions hot and cold food from the tray line onto the patient’s tray.
Assist in the delivery of completed trays to each resident.
Assist in tray preparation as appropriate, including buttering bread, pouring sugar into tea or coffee, cutting meat, etc.
Collect trays, disassemble, scrape food into garbage cans and return tray trucks, cups, bowls, silverware to the dishroom.
Assist in the preparation and service of nourishments to residents and visitors during activity functions.
Wrap silverware.
Make desserts and resident special plates.
Serve lunch and dinner in the staff dining room as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
Able to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
