Concrete Finisher Journeyman - Various Locations
Concrete Finisher constructs, erects, installs, and repairs concrete structures, in fixtures of wood, plywood, and patent type form systems using hand tools and power tools within tolerances that conform to drawings and specifications, as well as directing and training Concrete Finisher helpers to do the same.
Overview of Primary Duties
Operate a transit/level to set grade for paving forms, establish sub-grade, and set grade pens for finished concrete grade.
Set forms for alleys, streets, driveways, sidewalks, ADA ramps, inlets, curbs, and concrete structure improvements.
Place and finish concrete to the correct grade to ensure proper drainage and smooth ride quality that adheres to all City, State, and Federal Standards.
Operation of electric and pneumatic tools.
Selects, loads, and hauls job material to the work site.
Direct the casting of the concrete with the truck driver
Pouring smoothing and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed.
Apply seal and hardening components.
Safely operates power vibrators to ensure the concrete is compacted.
Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.

Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices

Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
Participate in required and assigned training.
Provide suggestions to improve Safety.

Qualifications Level III:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience
NCCER Concrete Finisher journeyman certification
Level II:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience
NCCER “Performance” Concrete Finisher journeyman verification
Other verified experiences or certifications with concrete finisher experience
Level I:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related concrete finisher experience
Requirements
Ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently
The degree of job responsibilities and requirements may vary depending on months of experience
Personal hand tools required for craft as established on the Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List
Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights

Ability to talk and hear to communicate
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision
